The children's author David Walliams dropped by longtime publisher.

The comedian

Best-selling writer for children and entertainer David Walliams has parted ways with his UK book publisher, according to an announcement.

A spokesman for the company said: "Upon deliberation, and following the appointment of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing future works by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the decision was made after an inquiry regarding reports of conduct deemed unsuitable directed at female individuals.

The firm did not confirm the motivations for this action, stating: "We do not comment on confidential company decisions."

A Prolific Writing Journey

Walliams is one of the UK's most best-selling authors for kids, with sales exceeding in excess of 60 million copies globally in five dozen languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins back in 2008.

Some of his books, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into TV movies.

To date, he has released in excess of 40 works combined, encompassing a holiday title titled *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins last autumn.

Television and Literature

His career breakthrough occurred on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

The publisher's decision comes after the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive last fall.
