Being aware he was headed to the underworld, he made contact with the realm beyond beforehand to obtain a powerful role there. Rosie, who leads Hell’s cannibal community, vowed Alastor he would become “the most powerful Condemned Soul in Hell” in return for his eternal spirit. This raises an important query: How is Rosie powerful enough to raise Alastor over all other Sinner Demons? “The Rosie and Alastor deal is the initial building block in a much bigger story that encompasses so much, leading into the third season,” the creator states. “Clearly that is a perfect question: How is she that powerful? The answer might be many things, but the revelation is in season three. I'm very excited for fans to witness it.” There’s no telling how long the audience will have to remain for Hazbin Hotel’s next season. The production companies have approved the third and fourth seasons, but the showrunner frequently notes that animation is a time-consuming endeavor, and later seasons are undated. Meanwhile, the origin story episode provides another glimpse into what the main characters of Sinner Demons appeared as as humans, the second after seeing Sir Pentious’ historical human form in episode 2. The creator says that a lot of thought was put into these character designs. “The mortal forms of the characters carry great significance,” she notes. “They range from looking really different from their infernal version to seeming almost identical. With the first character, the initial design we see, there was a little bit of a debate within the team between going with a design that symbolizes the character, versus selecting an option that's historically correct. We leaned toward creating something that just felt like it was him.” Image: The Service She mentions the biggest debate over the mortal look of Pentious was his long hair: “We were like, ‘Nobody really had long hair of that style in Victorian-era London.’ But at the same time, we think the silhouette is extremely crucial, and we also just felt he looked good. We were like, ‘This seems correct.’ We sort of provided the rationale that he lived in seclusion, so he just allowed his hair to lengthen. So there is always a solution. As we design the mortal forms of these personas […] it is a very enjoyable process to explore and determine.
